Obituary of Theresa McGraw

Mrs. Theresa ?Anne? McGraw, 85, of 28 Oak View Drive, Fort Edward, NY, formerly of 22 Green Street, Mohawk, NY, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2007 in Albany Medical Center. ?Anne? was born on January 28, 1922, daughter of the late John and Caroline (Rathbun) Murphy and was educated in Mohawk Central School. Anne was married to Arthur McGraw, who predeceased her in 1995. She spent most of her life (82 years) in Mohawk and the last three years were spent in Fort Edward at the home of her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Dave Wilkins. Anne was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk. She also was a member of the Mohawk American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Anne was last employed at Quakenbush Manufacturing Co., Herkimer, NY, but her first love was babysitting. She spent many years doing just that and babysat many, many children. Survivors include her two daughters: Cheri Wilkins and husband Dave of Fort Edward and Pat Baron and husband Charlie of Albany; one son: Thomas McGraw of Mohawk; a brother: Edward Murphy and wife Nancy of Ilion; in-laws: Harry and Danny Ferguson, Laura Piper, Ruth McGraw, Shirley Krazewski, Flora Roberts, Mary, Anne and Shirley Murphy; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; five brothers: Francis, Robert, Michael and John Murphy and Frederick Rathbun; and two sisters: Margaret Thomes and Helen White. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (866-1011) on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 from 5:00 pm ? 8:00 pm. Anne?s funeral will commence at 10:00 am with prayer at the funeral home and 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, where Father Mark Cunningham, Sacramental Minister, will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial, assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, Parish Life Director. Procession will follow to Mohawk Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of floral offerings, please consider the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The Mohawk American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will meet at the funeral home to conduct their service on Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.
