Obituary of Mary Mizerak

Mrs. Mary Mizerak, 87, formerly of Little Falls, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 at the Medina Memorial Hospital in Medina, New York. At the time of her death she was a resident of Orchard Manor Nursing Home, also in Medina, NY. Mary was born September 5, 1920, in Herkimer NY, the daughter of the late Michael and Tekla (Czubik) Michalski. She attended Herkimer schools, and for a time was employed by the Melrose Shoe Factory in Little Falls. Mary was united in marriage to Samuel Mizerak, on August 26, 1944 in St. Mary's Ukrainian Church, Herkimer, NY., by the Rev. John Shnurer. Mary and Sam enjoyed 56 years of marriage until Sam's death in 2001. Mary will always be remembered for her perseverance, and quiet unassuming nature. She was a homemaker, taking great pride in baking and sharing her recipes with family and friends. Mary also took pleasure in completing word puzzles, watching her daytime and evening game shows and visiting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen (John) Cummings, of Lyndonville, NY, her three granddaughters, Heather Cummings of Little Falls, Sarah Cummings of San Marcos Texas, and Allyson Cummings of Lyndonville, NY, and also two great granddaughters, Ella Mahnke and Allyson Cummings-Deslatte. Mary is survived by a sister Anne (Wind) of Marietta, GA, Anne's children Alan and Michael Wind, a niece, Barbara (James) Gilbo of Little Falls, Barbara's children Jeff Gilbo and Melissa (Joe) Pedone., and nephews Harold Malanoski and Robert Mizerak. Mary was predeceased by brothers Mike and John Michalski, and a sister Stella Johnson. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, December 13, 2007 from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls. A graveside service will be held in the spring at a time convenient to the family. It is the wish of the family that donations in memory of Mary are made to the National Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Envelopes may be obtained from the funeral home.
