Obituary of Congetta Musella

Mrs. Congetta Musella 102 a formerly of Dolgeville, and who has been a resident of the Country Manor and Valley Health Services, died Wednesday September 12, 2007. She was born in Naples, Italy on October 10, 1904 the daughter of Salvatore and Anna (Malinconica) Savino and attended school in Italy. She came to the United States with her family in 1913. Her marriage to Saverio ?Sam? Musella took place on June 5, 1927 in St. Joseph?s Church Little Falls. Father Anthony Spina was the celebrant. They shared 70 years of marriage until he predeceased her on April 15, 1997. Mrs. Musella was employed by area shoe companies, including the former Leda Shoe Company, retiring from there in 1970. Her favorite past-time was cooking, and her abilities to produce fried dough, home made macaroni, and Italian soup for her grandchildren will always be remembered by them. Also she could be heard singing in Italian around the house the songs she learned as a young girl. Her secret to a long life was her deep religious faith in God which saw her through many a rough time in her life. Her family will remember her laughter, her singing and especially never having a bad word for anyone. She is survived by a Son and his wife Donald and Maria Musella of Toronto, Ontario Canada, Three Grandchildren, Michele and her husband Doug Parks of Chesapeake, Virginia, Michael Musella of Florida and her Special granddaughter Carolyn Musella of Little Falls, Five Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by a Son Salvatore Musella on September 15, 1995, two daughters in law Vivian Musella and Janet Musella, a Brother Ernest Savino, her Sisters Fannie Tripodi, Nancy Marucci, Mary George, Vera Rockwell and Josephine Miller, her two Nephews Carl Marucci and Vincent Tripodi and a niece Mary Wroebel. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday September 15, 2007 at 11 AM at St. Joseph?s Church on Helmer Avenue Dolgeville. Rev. Leo F. Potvin will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph?s Cemetery. Calling hours are Today (Friday) from 6-8 PM at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Mrs. Musella may be remembered with a memorial to St. Joseph?s Church Memorial Fund, envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at Mass.
