Mrs. Esther L. Paul 83 formerly of Dolgeville and who has been a resident of the Folts Home in Herkimer, since March of 2003, died there Sunday November 11, 2007. Esther was born in Burrell Corners, town of Salisbury on October 16, 1924 the daughter of Floyd E. and Carrie (Curtis) Johnson and was educated in Salisbury Rural School and Dolgeville School. Her marriage to Elmer J. Paul took place on November 10, 1942 in the Presbyterian Church in Dolgeville. Mr. Paul predeceased her on April 15, 1981. She was employed by the former Daniel Green Shoe Company and the former Dawlson Shoe Company both of Dolgeville. Esther also served as a care giver to area residents and as a crossing guard for the Dolgeville Central School. Esther was a member of the Lutheran ? Presbyterian Parish of Dolgeville, serving as a church Elder and former financial secretary of the church. She is survived by a daughter and her husband Jeanne and Philip A. Dunderdale of Salisbury, 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren and two Sisters. She was predeceased by a son John L. Paul on December 14, 1990. At Esther?s request there are NO Calling hours and the services will be Private at the convenience of the family in the Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department or to the S & S ambulance Corps in her memory. Her daughter and her family wish to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the staff at the Folts Home for the care and kindness given to Esther while she was a resident there.
