Obituary of Carmella Paul

Carmella A. Paul, 89, of 914 Highland Ave., Herkimer, passed away on Sunday September 2, 2007, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer with her loving family by her side. She was born June 12, 1918 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Vincenzo & Mary (Donadio) Giachetti and was educated in Little Falls schools. She was married to Irving Paul, who pre-ceded her in death on August 15, 1957. Carmella was last employed at the former Focus Dress Shop in Mohawk, and various dress shops in the area. After her retirement, Carmella worked with the Green Thumb as a home companion. Mrs. Paul was of the catholic faith. She was a charter member of the Herkimer Elks Lodge, Ladies Auxiliary, and the ILGWU. Survivors include three sons, Howard (Squeak) Paul and wife Linda of Herkimer, Ronald Paul and wife Nancy of Utica, and Richard Paul of Herkimer, a sister, Rose Giachetti of Herkimer, her grandchildren, Patricia Schumacher and husband Alfred of Ilion, James Paul of Ilion, Michael Paul and wife Lesley of Fairfield, NY, Tricia Paul of Denver, Colorado, Robert Paul of Herkimer, Crystal Paul and companion Anthony Garcia of Pinole, California, and Jason Paul of Herkimer, eight great grandchildren, Nadia, Adam, Stacey, Nicole, Schuyler, Justin, Jessie and John, her canine companions, Sam and Bailey, several nieces & nephews, special friends on Highland Ave., and Delores and Sam Geloso of Ilion. She was pre-deceased by a son, Robert Paul, four brothers, Angelo, Henry, Armond and Joseph Giachetti and four sisters, Irene Vogt, Catherine Milette, Josephine Taylor, and Louise Gregg. Graveside memorial services will be held on Monday September 10, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery, with Reverend Mark Cunningham, pastor of St. Francis de Sales Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY. In lieu of flowers all memorial contributions may be made to Palliative Care of the Valley Health Services, 690 W. German St., Herkimer, NY 13350.
