Obituary of Harold Perrone

Harold J. Perrone, 87, a long time Mohawk resident, passed away on Sunday January 21, 2007 at the Valley Health Services, Herkimer, NY. He was born September 26, 1919 in Burlington Flatts, NY the son of the late Roscoe & Lena (Wolfen) Perrone and was educated in Richfield Springs schools. His marriage to Thelma Lane took place on September 27, 1940 in Richfield Springs. The couple shared a blessed union of 65 years until the passing of Mrs. Perrone on January 18, 2006. Mr. Perrone was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, enlisting on December 24, 1943 and was honorably discharged on December 25, 1945 with the rank of Corporal. For 32 years, Harold worked at Remington Arms in Ilion, NY. Mr. Perrone was a past member of the Ilion Fish & Game Club. Survivors include a son Wayne Perrone and wife Claudia of Mohawk, 2 daughters, Janice Edick and husband Floyd of California, & Linda Roberts and husband Grant of Nevada, a brother, Clarence Knapp and wife Olivia of Newport, a sister, June Lonis of Ilion, 10, grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Roscoe Perrone and a sister, Marjorie Blazak. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Spring interment with full military honors will be in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (between Ilion & Frankfort). All memorial contributions may be made to Valley Health Services, 690 W.
