Obituary of Mabel Piscione

Mabel M. Piscione, 76, of 105 Protection Ave., Herkimer passed away on Monday January 1, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, NY. She was born May 29, 1930 in Binghamton, NY the daughter of the late Clinton & Lydia (Rifenbury) Adams and was educated in Binghamton school. Mabel lived most of her life in the Litchfield area, moving to Herkimer in 1996. Her marriage to John Piscione took place on April 23, 1949. Mr. Piscione passed away in 1992. Mabel was last employed in the maintenance dept. at Herkimer County. For 23 years, she worked at the Betty Hollands Restaurant in Mohawk, and at one time at Mt. Markham Central School District. Mrs. Piscione was a member of St. Joseph?s Church in West Winfield and the West Winfield VFW Auxiliary. Mabel?s life was centered around her family, proving herself a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her leisure she enjoyed tending her flower garden and bowling. Survivors include her son, John Piscione Jr., and wife Trudy of West Winfield; 3 daughters, Mary Lydia Bowen and husband John of Ilion, Cecelia Hilbus and husband Greg of MO., and Josephine Piscione of West Winfield; 3 sisters, Lillian Roe and Josephine Roe both of Fulton, NY & Betty Lu Tucker of PA; 9 grandchildren, Heather Falvo and husband Mike, Tricia Piscione, Paul Bowen, Kimberly Bowen, Tammie Brown, Ryan Patterson, Erin Patterson, Melissa Reid, & Jimmy Hurst 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. She was pre-deceased by 2 sisters, Lydia (Peg) Smith and Kathryn Luscome. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 5, 2007 at 9:00 am from the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, and at 10:00 am at St. Joseph?s Church, West Winfield with Reverend Terence Healy, pastor, celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Cedarville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday January 4, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one?s choice.
