Obituary of Edward Przestrzelski

Edward S. Przestrzelski, 68, of 29 Armory St., Ilion, formerly of Utica and Schuyler, died Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at home after a long illness. He was born on April 30, 1938 in Utica, the son of Edward and Wanda (Czerwicki) Przestrzelski. He was a graduate of W. Canada High School and attended Utica College, MVCC, and HCCC. In his early years, he was a farmer. Ed owned and operated Putters Paradise Miniature Golf and Paradise Polar Drive-In in Schuyler, NY, for 18 years. He later managed Burger King in Herkimer and Pizza Hut in Rome. Most recently, he was employed with the N.Y.S. correctional system. Mr. Przestrzelski attended the Mohawk Reformed Church. He was very active in the American Cancer Society Programs, including the Relay for Life, which he was a team captain for Crusaders for Life for many years. Ed was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and also helped cancer patients. He was involved in the Annual American Heart Assoc. Run & Walk. Ed was always trying to help people. Survivors include his mother, Wanda of Utica; two sisters, Bonnie of Utica, Virginia Craig and her husband, Emory of Oregon, IL; his brother, Ronald of Wayne, PA; his daughter, Tiffany of Elba, NY; two sons, Stephen of Elba, NY, Edward and his wife, Wendy of Ormond Beach, FL; one granddaughter, Deidra; a great-grandson, Devon; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and an uncle, Charles Czerwicki of NY Mills. He was predeceased by his father, Edward; and his brother, Francis. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mohawk Reformed Church, 18 S. Otsego St., Mohawk, with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours will be on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion. The family would like to thank Dr. Alicia DeTraglia and her office nurses, Dr. Love, Dr. Booth, and Dr. Mandour, and Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
