Obituary of Congetta Raiello

LITTLE FALLS ? Congetta F. Raiello, 81, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away early Friday morning, May 18, 2007. At the time of her passing, which occurred in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica, she had family at her side. She was born on November 15, 1925, in Little Falls, daughter of the late Giovanni and Clementina (Guerierro) Raiello. Congetta was educated in the Little Falls schools. She was a kind and gentle woman who was known for her outgoing, welcoming personality and love of children. Congetta was a member of the Holy Family Parish in Little Falls. She worked for more than 40 years at various companies in the Little Falls area; Little Falls Felt Shoe Co., Melrose Slipper, Allegro Shoe Co. and LaSalle Laboratory Manufacturing,until retiring. Congetta is survived by her family who she loved very much; one son, John A. Raiello of Ashburn, Va.; two grand-daughters, Allison and Andrea Raiello also of Ashburn, VA; a sister Michelena Papaleo of Little Falls; and sister Mary Vallone of Frankfort, NY. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Congetta was particularly fond of her two nephews David Raiello and John C. Raiello and their mother Mary Raiello of Little Falls; her niece, Donna Zippin (Raiello) who following her move to Folts Home in Herkimer spent much of their time visiting with Congetta and taking her to their homes to celebrate holidays. Congetta was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony Raiello and Charles Raiello, both of Little Falls; and a sister, Lena Barone also of Little Falls. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and the entire staff at Folts Home and St. Elizabeth's Medical Center for the care they provided Congetta. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Monday, May 21st, 2007, from 5-8 p.m. Ms. Raiello's funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 from the chapel of the funeral home and at 11 am in Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Streets, Little Falls, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor. Members of the Holy Family Parish Rosary Society will form an honor guard at the church on Tuesday. A procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest beside her parents Giovanni and Clementina Raiello.
