Lorraine A. (Beach) Robbins, age 72, formerly of Ilion, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Health Central Hospital, Orlando, FL. She was born on June 20, 1934 in Ilion, the daughter of Fred W. and Dorothy (Countryman) Miller and attended Ilion Schools. Lorraine was employed at Lockheed Martin, Datamax and Boise Cascade. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, enjoyed deep sea fishing, and loved to play Bingo. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Michael Sciortino of Herkimer; her son, John Mento of Orlando, FL; her sister, Pat Sebastian and close companion, Ron Stowell of Herkimer; six grandchildren, Lisa, Matthew, Jessica and Michael Sciortino, John and Michael Mento; her sister-in-law, Clare Beach of Ilion; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Dorothy (Beach) Miller and Fred Miller; three brothers, George, Charles and Carl Beach; and one sister, Louise Brinkerhoff. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. Interment will be in the family plot at Millers Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, 12 Noon- 1 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Anyone needing a ride to visitation and/or services on Saturday may call the funeral home at 895-7722 for complimentary transportation assistance.
