Obituary of Charles Scaparo

The children of Charles "Chick" Scaparo, 61, of Railroad St. and Litchfield St., Frankfort, said goodbye to their precious Father on Saturday afternoon, February 17, 2007 in his home. Chick's passing followed a short and courageous struggle with cancer. His loving family was at his side. Chick was born on December 17, 1945 in Ilion, son of the late Tony "The Pizza Man" Scaparo and Pauline (Zoller) Scaparo and attended Frankfort schools. Chick was employed by Mohawk Data Sciences for 21 years. Following his employment at MDS, Chick worked for First Student Inc. for 16 years, where he was known as the favorite bus driver for West Frankfort School. Chick enjoyed his job as a school bus-driver; he also enjoyed his weekly charter trips to the casino driving the bingo bus. Chick sadly leaves behind four very grateful, devoted and adoring children; his daughter Regina "Gina"( Scaparo) Gonzalez her husband Rick and their daughters Shannon and Jordan; his daughter Paula (Scaparo) Moore her children Samantha, Tommy, Alexandra and their father Tom Moore; his only son: Charles "Chic" Scaparo; his daughter Jennifer (Scaparo) Cacciatore her husband Shaun and their children Francesca, Sonny and Bianca; Chick's special "nephew," our brother, Craig Allen and his family Amanda Hunt, and baby Dante Odin Allen. Chick also had a special relationship with his former wife Pat (Tubia) Allen and her husband John Allen all from Ilion. Survivors also include his loving brother: Anthony "Tony" Scaparo his wife Shirley their sons Tony, Steve and families; his loving sister Linda her sons, Les "Doobie," Scotty, Johnny, and his special nephew Anthony Shibley and an aunt: Frances DiSano of Frankfort. Chick also leaves behind three special "dog" grandchildren, Bella, Max, and Cosmo. He was predeceased by his mother: Pauline Zoller Scaparo, his father: Tony Scaparo, his sister: Joyce Scaparo, and a brother in-law: Les "Big Al" Shibley and also his in-laws James and Bertha Tubia. Chick was the most amazing father, who made his children's, grandchildren's, co-workers, friends and students lives so full of laughter and love that every breath he took was for them. He was such a wonderful man who made everyone he met smile and laugh. Our dad is now looking down at us from heaven with a piece of Primo Pizza in one hand and an icy cold Coke Classic in the other and saying, "Wow that's good stuffs." We will keep you alive in our hearts and lives until the day we can all be together again. We will miss you so much dad, we will love you always. In respecting Chick's and his children wishes there will be no public calling hours. The family will gather privately to say goodbye at the Enea Family Funeral Home in the town of Frankfort. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Memorial Mass on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort, with the Rev. John Yanas, Jr., pastor, officiating. The family will form a receiving line in the vestibule of the church, following the service. Due to extreme inclement weather conditions Chick will be laid to rest in the spring in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort. The Scaparo family is being served by the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street between Frankfort and Ilion, 894-8000, Daniel J. Enea, funeral director.
