Ugo A. Taverni, 83, a life long Little Falls resident, passed away on Sunday September 9, 2007 at St. Elizabeth?s Medical Center, Utica, NY. He was born January 4, 1924 in Little Falls the son of the late Antonio & Italia (Cinquanta) Taverni and was educated in Little Falls schools. His marriage to Marie McTiernan took place on June 22, 1946 at St. Mary?s Church in Little Falls. Mr. Taverni retired from Salada Foods in Little Falls, and was a member of the Holy Family Parish. A member of the AARP and past president and also had been active in the Democratic Party in Little Falls and served as committeeman. Ugo was a member of the former St. Joseph?s Men?s Club. In his leisure he had many interests, including woodworking, gardening, bowling and golf. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Marie, two sons, Anthony (Tony) Taverni and wife Linda of Chestertown, NY, and Edward Taverni and wife Diane of Oswego, two daughters, Maria Burton and husband Douglas of Mohawk and Joan Dunn and husband Bill of Yaphank, NY, a brother, Bernard Taverni and wife Angela of Little Falls, eight grandchildren, Matthew & Elisa Taverni, Christopher, Thomas, & James Burton, Margaret, Laura and Anne Taverni, and many nieces, nephews & cousins. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Guido Taverni and two sisters, Elisa Fantera and Bernice Valent. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 12, 2007 at 10:15 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY and at 11:00 am from Holy Family Parish, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Anthony Ligato, pastor. Burial will follow at St. Mary?s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday September 11, 2007 from 5-8 pm. All memorial contribution may be made to Holy Family Parish. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home
