Obituary of Albert Trask

Albert A. Trask, 83, of N. Washington St., Herkimer, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 16, 2007 at the Folts Homes, Herkimer. He was born on December 20, 1923, in Springfield Center, son of the late Ernest and Emma (Brigham) Trask and was educated in Richfield Springs schools. He was first married to Pauline DeLucia who pre-ceded him in death on May 8, 1988. He was later united in marriage with Marilyn Houser Balderston on September 26, 1992; together they have shared a blessed union of fourteen years. A proud United States Veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps from March 18, 1944 and was honorably discharged on May 10, 1946 with the rank of Private First Class. While serving his country he received the following, Asiatic ? Pacific Campaign Medal and Ribbon, Victory Medal and Ribbon, Combat Action Ribbon, New York State Medal of Merit, New York State Conspicuous Service Star. His last professional employment was with Mohawk Data Science (MDS) in East Herkimer, retiring in 1991. Mr. Trask leaves his beloved wife Marilyn of Herkimer; two sons: Andrew Trask and wife Erin of East Herkimer, and William Trask of Lompoc, Ca., three daughters: Judy Cioch and husband Gary of Herkimer, Lorry Hein and husband Barry of Herkimer, and Diane Palmieri and husband William of Mohawk; two brothers: Raymond Trask, and wife Mary Rose and Robert Trask and wife Catherine all of Ilion; a sister Ruth Rathbun of New York Mills; five step children: Barbara Hall and husband Larry of Dolgeville, Hazel Rockwell of Albany, Herbert Balderston and wife Angie of Utica, Sandra Muller and husband David of Little Falls and Pamela Oldfield and husband Terrance of Herkimer; 10 grandchildren, Michelle Johnson and husband Dennis of Poland, Melissa Trask and friend Carmen Snyder of Waterville, Crystal Wilkins and husband David of Mohawk, Autumn Soltero and husband Armando of California, Jimmy Cioch of Herkimer, Barry Hein, Jr. and wife Amanda of Jupiter, Florida, William Palmieri and fiancee Danielle Mortz of Mohawk, Jason Palmieri and wife Renee of Mohawk, Sarah Hein of Herkimer, and Michael Palmieri of Mohawk, 4 great grandchildren, Cody and Jesse Johnson and Tracy & Justine Palmieri, and several nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his daughter Joyce Trask, five brothers and two sisters. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer on Friday, May 18, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. Albert?s funeral will commence at 1 pm on Saturday afternoon, May 19, from the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Arthur R. Miner, Chaplain of the Folts Home officiating. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, where he will be laid to rest with full military honors. All memorial contributions may be to Folts Home, 104 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY, 13350. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
