Obituary of Raymond Trask

ILION - Raymond T. Trask, age 70, of 2 Cottage St., Ilion, passed away Friday afternoon, Oct. 5, 2007 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown where he was a patient. Raymond was born March 10, 1937 in Richfield Springs, son of Ernest and Emma (Brigham) Trask. Early on he attended school in Richfield Springs. Raymond was a punch press operator at Motronics in Little Falls and the ARC Workshop for 20 years until his retirement. On Sept. 29, 1990 he was united in marriage to Mary Rose Perry at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk. A blessed and loving union of almost 17 years. He was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, loved country music and movies, loved to tool around in his electric scooter, and loved to be around people. Among his favorite memories was his trip to Nashville, and honeymoon and vacation in Florida, all with his beloved wife Mary Rose. Raymond was admired for his strength and courage in light of his disabilities. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Mary Rose Trask of Cottage Street, Ilion; his brother, Robert (Bob) Trask of Cedarville and his sister, Ruth; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Donald and Sharon Perry, Carol Perry, and Bob Perry, all of Ilion; several nieces, nephews and friends, including his good friends, Debbie and Bob Fitch. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Bertha and Dorothy, and six brothers, Doug, Ron, Earl, Donald, Harold, and Al. Family and friends are invited to visitation Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, from 2-4 p.m. at the Applegate, Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Church of the Annunciation by Father Anthony Barratt, pastor and deacon James Bower officiating. Raymond will be interred on the Trask family lot at Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs. In lieu of floral offerings, please consider memorial contributions in Raymond's name to the Herkimer County ARC. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. A special thanks to Raymond's nurse Felicia Mosher, and his good friend Jimmy Crossway for all their acts of kindness to Ray.
