Marguerite D. Vacca, 82 a life long St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Saturday December 29, 2007 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. She was born November 1, 1925 in St. Johnsville, NY the daughter of the late Amadio and Mary (Zolli) Castrucci and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School. Marguerite furthered her education, receiving her Masters Degree at Oneonta State with honors. Her marriage to Felix Vacca took place on July 3, 1955 at St. Patrick?s Church on St. Johnsville. The couple shared a blessed union of 43 years until the passing of Mr. Vacca on March 3, 1998. Marguerite was a Second grade teacher at David H. Robbins Elementary School in St. Johnsville for over 35 years. Mrs. Vacca was a member of St. Patrick?s Church and its Alter Rosary Society. She was also involved with many local organizations throughout the years. In her leisure she had a passion for reading and loved to cook for her family and friends. Marguerite life was centered around her family, proving herself a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Survivors include two sons, Paul Vacca of St. Johnsville and Peter Vacca and wife Veronica (Peaches) of North Port, Florida, two grandchildren, John and Leanne Vacca, and several nieces, nephews and cousins including a special nephew, Albert Castrucci and friend Lois Thomas of St. Johnsville. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Joseph Castrucci. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2008 at 11:30 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY, and at 12:00 noon from St. Patrick?s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Spring burial will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday January 1, 2008 from 4-7 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to Margaret Reaney Library. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
