Obituary of Dorothy Wollaber

ILION-Dorothy C. Wollaber, age 92, formerly of Elizabethtown Rd., Ilion, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 8, 2007. She was born on December 24, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Jennie (Reardon) Comstock and attended Mohawk Schools. On May 29, 1941, she was married to Albert R. Wollaber. He died in January 2005. At one time, she worked at Remington Rand Co., Ilion. Dorothy was a member of the Mohawk Reformed Church, Ilion Hospital Guild and enjoyed sewing, knitting and cooking. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Gilday and her companion Rawlin Amy, of Dolgeville; her son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Coleen Wollaber, of Ilion; two grandchildren, Wade Wollaber, of Schuyler, and Hallie Wollaber, of Ilion; several nieces, nephews and cousins including special nieces, Denise Williams, of Mohawk, Sondra Roemer, of New Hartford and Kathleen Capabianco, of FL. She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, Merton and John Comstock and her sister, Irene Schrell. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m, Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Applgegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion with Rev. Brian Engel, Pastor of the Mohawk Reformed Church, officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Dorothy's family wishes to thank Mark and Heather for their kindness and compassion.
