Obituary of Joshua Ammermann

Joshua Stephen Ammermann, 17, of 35 S. Richfield St., Mohawk, passed away at home unexpectedly on Sunday, March 5, 2006. Joshua was born Jan. 31, 1989, in Little Falls, son of Stephen E. Ammermann and Sandra (Brant) LaPera. He was currently attending Mohawk High School and prior to that attended school at Mount Markham. Joshua loved golfing; he played guitar and recently joined a band, and was active in sports as a member of the football and wrestling teams. Lately he enjoyed going to church and bingo with his loving grandmother, Jean. Joshua will be greatly missed by his beloved family and many good friends. Survivors include his mother, Sandra LaPera of Mohawk; father, Stephen Ammermann of Mohawk; his beloved brothers, Tyler at home, Stephen Ammermann of Saugerties and Alex LaPera of Bridgewater; his stepfather and special friend, Robert "Bob" LaPera of Bridgewater; his grandparents, Jean Brant of Mohawk and John and Susan Ammermann of Mohawk; aunts and uncles, John R. and Beth A. Brant of Mohawk, Debra and Brett Urtz of Mohawk, Penny and Jack Mohler of Ohio, John "John-John" and Maureen Ammermann of Marcy, Jennifer and John Nelson of Mohawk, Peggy and Jim Hyde of Mohawk; his many cousins and special friends, including Lynn "Bird" Gifford. Joshua was predeceased by his grandfather, John Brant and great-grandmother, Margaret March. Joshua's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, commencing at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church, East Main Street, Mohawk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Mark Cunningham, sacramental minister, assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, Parish Life Director. Procession to Mohawk Cemetery for interment will follow Mass. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday, March 7, from 4-8 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Acme Road between Ilion and Frankfort. All funeral and burial arrangements are entrusted to Don Applegate and John Day of the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home of Mohawk. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, in Joshua's memory. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
