Obituary of Janet Bagans

Mrs. Janet E. Bagans 84 of 2722 East 12th Street Emmett, Idaho a former Salisbury Center resident, died Friday October 27, 2006 at her home in Idaho. She was born in Troy, New York on May 23, 1922 the daughter of George A. and Ida (Carlson) Sturgess and was a graduate of Draper High School in Schenectady. She continued her education by attending The New York State Teachers College. She was married to Rev. Forest Hunter on November 1, 1944 in Schenectady. Rev. Hunter predeceased her on December 12, 1995. She then married George R. Bagans who also predeceased her on September 30, 2004. Janet was her husband?s secretary for the many churches that they were assigned to during her husbands? tenure as a pastor throughout New York Sate. Where ever they resided she would involve herself in the local Parent Teachers Association, she served as an Advisor and leader for the Girl Scouts, and was involved in the Adult Education Program in the Kenmore School system in Buffalo. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Schenectady and Kenmore and often served as a Lay Speaker for the Methodist Church. She is survived by a Daughter Linda Ann Hunter of Emmett, Idaho, a Sister Helen K. Vaughan of California, her Grandchildren Robert , Joseph, Brian Fitzpatrick, 2 Great Grandsons and a Great Granddaughter. Memorial graveside services will be held in the month of May 2007 in the Salisbury Rural Cemetery at which time friends will be notified. There are NO CALLING HOURS. Memorials in her name may be sent to the Salisbury Center United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Roberts & Enea family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
