Obituary of Nancy Billman

Nancy J. Billman, age 56, of Millers Grove Rd., Town of Schuyler, passed away Monday morning, May 15, 2006, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica, with her loving husband, David, by her side. Nancy was born May 24, 1949 in Utica, daughter of the late Rowland and Ruth (Palmer) Hughes. She was a graduate of Frankfort-Schuyler High School "Class of 1967" and attended the Utica School of Commerce. On March 19, 1971, she was united in marriage to David J. Billman at the Herkimer United Methodist Church, a blessed union of 35 years. Nancy was employed as a Medical Secretary at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center for over 30 years. At one time she was a member of the East Schuyler United Methodist Church and recently attended the Waterbury Memorial Presbyterian Church in Oriskany. Nancy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her beloved family. Survivors include her husband, David J. Billman at home; one daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Michael Shepardson of Deerfield; one son, Jefferson Billman of Ilion and his fiancee, Sara McCann; her cherished grandchildren, Shea and Andrew Smith, and Ava Shepardson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Peggy Hughes of Deerfield, and Danny and Karen Hughes of Speculator; her special cousin, Pat Williams and her husband, Roger of Yorkville; and her close friends, Kathy Priolo, Rosalie Marchitelli, and Mary Tripp. She was predeceased by her parents and her mother-in-law, Dorothy Billman in December 2005. In keeping with Nancy's wishes her funeral service will be private. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will be in W. Schuyler Cemetery. A memorial service celebrating Nancy's life will be held Saturday, June 17th, commencing at 1 p.m. at the Waterbury Memorial Presbyterian Church with Pastor Roger Williams officiating. In lieu of floral offerings, please consider memorial contributions in Nancy's name to the American Heart Assoc. Memorials may be forwarded to the family at 127 Millers Grove Rd., Frankfort, NY 13340. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion.
