Obituary of Nellis Brown

Mr. Nellis L. Brown 92 a resident of the St. Johnsville nursing home since August 2002, and former town of Oppenheim resident, died Sunday February 5, 2006 at the nursing home. He was born in the town of Oppenheim on December 28, 1913 the son of the late John and Matie (Nellis) Brown and was educated in rural schools. Nellis was self employed as a TV and radio repairman, he also did carpentry throughout the area. He was a member of the Oppenheim United Methodist Church, and his personal interests were in photography, flowers and fishing. His photography was unique and he captured many unusual pictures with his camera. Being the only child and never marrying, Nellis is survived by his good friends, and neighbors, Louise and Frank Sammons, Fred and Trish Sammons and their children, Charles and Susan Sammons, Carrie and Robert Ferrari and their children Justin and Mathew, Mary Mioseck and Gladys Davis, Argyle Schumberg, and Peter and Jan Krump, Kathy and John Kline, Louise Bernhardt, Ruth Polenski, Mary Gullis, Joe and Sue Mioseck and several other friends. A Graveside service will be held in the Dolgeville Cemetery later in the spring with the Rev. Jeff Losey, pastor of the Oppenheim United Methodist Church officiating. There are no calling hours. Memorials may be sent to the Oppenheim United Methodist Church in his memory. His funeral arrangements were prearranged and entrusted to the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville, New York.
