Obituary of Daniel Bucenec

Mr. Daniel Bucenec, age 88, a lifelong Little Falls resident, entered into eternal rest on Monday morning, January 2, 2006 in Folts Homes, Herkimer. He was born on January 1, 1918 in Little Falls the son of the late Paul and Susanna Bucenec and received his education in Little Falls schools. On July 7, 1943, Daniel was united in marriage with Kristine Otrupcak in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls. Together the couple enjoyed a blessed union of 62 years. A veteran of World War II, Daniel served with the U.S. Army enlisting on June 26, 1941 and was honorably discharged on January 23, 1946. His last professional employment was with the former Salada Tea and was at one time employed by Sperry Rand in Ilion. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls. Daniel was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed spending time his garden. Mr. Bucenec and his wife enjoyed traveling to places such as California, Wyoming and Maine to site see. Many special times were spent at the family camp on Piseco Lake. A beloved husband, father and grandfather he will be sadly missed. Survivors include his wife Kristine, of Little Falls; two children: Daniel S. Bucenec of Canajoharie and Jean Koroleski and husband Stanley of Valatie; three cherished grandchildren: Alex Koroleski, Daniel T. and Holly Bucenec; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers: Paul, Mike, Steve and John Bucenec and by a sister: Susan Busch. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 from 10-11 a.m. His funeral will commence at 11 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Evans, pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Daniel will be laid to rest this spring in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
