Obituary of Laura Claus

Mrs. Laura J. (Mosher) Claus, 87, formerly of Falls Courts Apt., Little Falls, most recently of Van Allen's Nursing Home passed away on Tuesday morning, Nov. 21, 2006 in that facility. She was born on Aug. 13, 1919, in Little Falls, daughter of the late Clark and Florence (Phelps) Mosher. Her marriage to Ennett V. Claus took place on Sept. 26, 1936, in Dolgeville. Mr. Claus passed away on July 5, 1989 after a blessed 52-year union. She was last employed with Tricot Mill in Dolgeville and attended Crum Creek Church, St. Johnsville. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and her membership with the Oppenheim Senior Citizens. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her son: Robert E. Claus of Knoxville, Tennessee; a daughter: Phyllis Fox of Little Falls; a brother: Alvin Hart and wife Carol of North Carolina; a sister in law: Helen Mosher of Dolgeville; seven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by three brothers: Leslie, Clark and Arthur Mosher. There will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a memorial service commencing at 11am on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 from Crum Creek Church, St. Johnsville with Deacon Darlene Spaulding officiating. Kindly consider memorial offerings to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital; envelopes are available at the funeral home or will be at the service on Saturday. Burial will follow in Rural Park Cemetery, Ingham Mills. The family is deeply grateful to the nurses and staff of Van Allen's Nursing Home, Little Falls, and St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica, for their tender love and care and also to all of Laura's friends for their kind acts of sympathy.
