Obituary of Marion Clemons

Marion Clemons, 77 of Brooksville, Florida, and formerly a St. Johnsville resident passed away on Friday April 28, 2006 at Tangerine Cove Assisted Living, Brooksville, Florida. She was born August 30, 1928 in Little Falls, NY the daughter of the late William E. Van Gorder, Sr. and Marguerite (Campbell) Van Gorder, and was educated in Dolgeville schools. Marion was first married to James Arthur Dygert on September 27, 1948. Mr. Dygert passed away on June 8, 1954. She was later married to Robert Clemons in April of 1956. He passed away on June 20, 1979. Mrs. Clemons was last employed at the former Allegro Shoe Company in Little Falls. While living in Florida Marion was a member of the All Faith United Church of Christ, and was a member of the Women?s Guild and Leisure Club of the church. She was also active in the Ridgemanor Cogent Meals and a volunteer at the Ridgemanor Community Center. Survivors include a brother Richard Van Gorder of Little Falls, 4 sisters, Marguerite (Peg) Roberson of Jerome, Idaho, Imogene Nichols and husband Glen of Campbella, South Carolina, Donna Hair and husband Larkin of Ridgemanor, Florida, and Karen Crouse and husband Robert of St. Johnsville, a special god daughter, Holly Nichols of Florida, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and 3 aunts. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, William E. Van Gorder, Jr., and Harold Van Gorder. Graveside services at West St. Johnsville Cemetery will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY.
