Obituary of Thekla Cool

Mrs. Thekla F. Cool, 73, of 127 Bingham Mills Rd., Stratford, town of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday afternoon, April 15, 2006 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 23, 1932 in Munich, Germany, the daughter of the late Eugene Ismayr and Theresa (Genosko) Schwojer and received her education in schools in Germany. On February 5th, 1954 in Munich Germany she joined hands in marriage with Howard L. Cool with whom she enjoyed a loving and blessed union of 29 years. She came with her husband from Germany to settle in the Dolgeville area later that same year. Mr. Cool passed away on Dec. 8, 1984. Thekla was employed for 39 years with the Daniel Green Company in Dolgeville, retiring after several years of dedicated service due to the closing of the factory. Whether she was planting flowers or just cleaning up, Thekla always went above and beyond to improve her home. She considered working around her house to be her main hobby continuously improving its appearance. More importantly, her loved ones were the core of her existence and the foremost concern in her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted children: Nora Cool-Guinup and husband Mark of Stratford and Roy Cool and wife Jeanne of Stratford; a brother: Johann Schwojer and wife Lotti of Munich, Germany; five cherished grandchildren: Matthew and Darlene Viscusie, Erica and Richard Fahd, Jill Viscusie, Joshua Cool and Jeena Cool; four adored great grandchildren: Brenden Fahd, Noah Fahd, Syerra Vedder and Lille Cool; an aunt: Maxi Schiffer of Massachusetts; a sister inlaw: Nora Cool of Salisbury; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters in law. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 from 4-7 p.m. Thekla's funeral will commence at 11am on Wed., April 19, from the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Albrecht, pastor of the Stratford/Salisbury United Methodist Church, officiating. She will be laid to rest in Stratford Cemetery later in the spring.
