Obituary of Elvira Cwalenski
Mrs. Elvira M. "Vera" (Vespi) Cwalenski, 88, of Burwell St., entered into eternal rest on Thursday evening, January 5, 2006 in Little Falls Hospital. She was born on May 29, 1917 in Little Falls a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosalinda (Zuccaro) Vespi and received her education in Little Falls schools. Her marriage to Ziggy W. Cwalenski took place on February 10, 1940 in St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls. Mr. Cwalenski passed away on December 1, 1997. She was last employed with the Little Falls City School District and was of the Catholic Faith. Vera leaves a daughter: Sandra Brown and husband James of Michigan; a sister: Clara Vennera and husband Patsy of Little Falls; six grandchildren: Linda Mollison, Kathy Scott and husband John, James Brown, Pam Kemp and husband Matt, Deborah Green and husband Joseph and Shawn Spraker; six great grandchildren: Anthony Mollison, Ryan Scott, Shawn Scott, Joseph Scott, Madison Kemp and Chase Kemp; two sisters in law: Eleanor Cirelli and husband Peter of Herkimer and Marcia Vespi of Dolgeville; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter: Barbara Spraker; two brothers: Daniel and Ernest Vespi and by a sister: Dora Hoke. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Sunday, January 8, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe St., Little Falls. Her funeral will commence on Monday, January 9, at 10:15 am from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered by Sister Marilyn Hayes, CSJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and Johns Streets, Little Falls, with the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, officiating. Funeral procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest. Vera may be remembered with a memorial to the American Heart Association or to the Little Falls Hospital Development Fund. Envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home. Vera was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be truly missed by her family. She was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoying watching their games.
