Elvin R. Dean, 87 of Groff Road, Palatine Bridge, passed away on Saturday February 4, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, NY. He was born June 18, 1918 in Johnstown, NY the son of the late Marion & Anna (Wilder) Dean and was educated in Knox Junior High School in Johnstown. His marriage to Hazel L. Warn took place on December 9, 1939 at St. John's Reformed Church in St. Johnsville. Mr. Dean was a World War II Air Force Veteran. For 25 years until his retirement, Elvin worked at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie. After his retirement, he worked at many of the various stores in the Ames Plaza in Palatine Bridge. Mr. Dean was a member of the Fort Plain - Sharon Springs Jehovah's Witnesses in Palatine Bridge, NY. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Hazel, a daughter, Louise Folts and her husband Robert of Canajoharie, 4 grandchildren, Naomi Filmer and her husband Warren, Robert Folts, Jr. and his wife Holly, Scott Folts and his wife Sue and Todd Folts and his wife Tammy, 11 great grandchildren, a half brother, Marion Dean, Jr. of Gloversville, and several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was pre-deceased by a son Robert L. Dean in 1963, one brother & five sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 8, 2006 at 12:00 noon from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday February 8, 2006 from 11:00 am until the time of the services. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 11, 2006 at 2:30 pm at the Fort Plain - Sharon Springs Jehovah's Witnesses in Palatine Bridge, NY.
