Obituary of Lance Dobson

Lance A. Dobson, 45, of Bronner Rd., (Town of Manheim), passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2006. He was born on October 25, 1960, in Montclair, New Jersey, son of Mary (Riccardi) Dobson and Lee Allen Dobson and was educated in New Jersey schools. On August 6, 1994, he was married to Georgette Lyon in the Zimmerman Church, Dolgeville. The couple enjoyed a union of 11 years and were blessed with two children. Lance worked throughout the valley as a self-employed contractor. Lances' boys were his whole life and he loved to spend time with them doing family activities. They camped and traveled, taking many family trips with his mother in law Shirley and Monty and Mary Beth. He had a great love for animals including his Siberian husky, Blizzard, his cat, Mocha, and his two cockatiels, Woodstock and Smokey, all who were apart of his family. Survivors include his wife and children: Georgette, Lukas and Carson Dobson all at home; his mother: Mary Dobson who resided with Lance; his father: Lee Allen Dobson of New Jersey; his brother: Lawrence Dobson and wife Brenda Ortlieb of Palatine Bridge; a sister: Kathy Stefanelli and husband Joseph of West Caldwell, N.J.; nieces and nephews: Jesse and James Dobson, Joseph, hristopher and Nicholas Stefanelli and Robert Keyser; his mother in law: Shirley Lyon of Dolgeville; brothers in law: Montgomery Lyon and wife Mary Beth and family of Dolgeville, Aretas Lyon and family and his companion Barbara Lyzenga of Little Falls, and Ralph Lyon and wife Shawn and family of Spencer, Wis.; and a sister in law: Darcie Lyon of Charleston, South Carolina. Also surviving are many cousins and friends. Memorial visitation at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, will be on Monday, July 31, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. A celebration of life in Lances' memory will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 at 11 a.m. from the United Methodist Church, 13 W. State St., Dolgeville, with Pastor Rebecca Laird, officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Kindly consider memorial offerings to the Lance A. Dobson Memorial Fund.
