Obituary of Cynthia Duquette

Cynthia A. "Cindy" (Gillette) Duquette, age 41, died unexpectedly Monday morning, June 26, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, following a motor vehicle accident. Cindy was born October 2, 1964 in Ilion, daughter of Brian S. and Dorothy (Grower) Gillette. She was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy in Connecticut. On May 24, 2003 she was married to Mark P. Duquette in Barneveld. Cindy was a motor route carrier for the Observer Dispatch. She enjoyed pool, crafting and baking, was a member of the American Pool Assoc., and was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, and a special Auntie to Larae. Survivors include her husband, Mark at home; two children, Crystal and Brian Leyko, and their father, Michael Leyko; one grandson, Christian; her mother, Dorothy Gillette of Cold Brook; brother, Brian Gillette and his wife, Becky of Utica; and sister, Christina Cherian and her husband, George of Utica; half-sister, Melissa Gillette of Kentucky; grandfather, Royce Gillette of Chicago; mother-in-law, Denise Wheeler of RI; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Brian S. Gillette; and grandmother, Florence Staffo. Family and friends are invited to visitation Thursday, June 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion. Cindy's funeral service will be held Friday, June 30th, commencing at 11 a.m. at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, Ilion with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Procession to W. Schuyler Cemetery for interment will follow. In lieu of floral offerings, please consider memorial contributions directly to the Duquette family.
