Obituary of Ascanio Enea

Ascanio ?Bing? Enea, 92, formerly of 100 W. Main St., Ilion and most recently of the Folts Home, passed away on Thursday December 28, 2006 at that facility. He was born January 15, 1914 in Portland, Maine the son of the late Julius & Angelina (Annutto) Enea and was educated in Maine schools. His marriage to Grace Maneen took place on June 10, 1939 in Frankfort. The couple shared a blessed union of 66 years until the passing of Mrs. Enea on January 31, 2005. Mr. Enea was last employed at the former Univac and at one time worked at the Herkimer Telegram. Bing was a member of the Annunciation Church in Ilion and a life long member of the Ilion Moose Lodge #1010. Survivors include his son, Jules Enea and wife Ginny of Ilion and a daughter, Angie Strail and husband Mickey of Ilion, his grandchildren, Erik Strail, Lisa and Rob Whyte and Stephaine & Louis Vulcano; a great grandson, Evan Vulcano and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, Lucy Enea of Herkimer and Louisa Enea of Frankfort. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Tommy Enea on January 9, 2004 and Harry J. Enea, Sr. on February 24, 2005. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial mass on Thursday January 11, 2007 at 10:00 am at the Annunciation Church in Ilion. Burial will be in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. Arrangements are under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main St., (between Ilion & Frankfort) 894-8000.
