Obituary of Raymond Fisher

Mr. Raymond N. Fisher 82 of 197 Peck Road Salisbury Center, died Saturday August 26, 2006 in Little Falls Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on May 17, 1924 in North Hampton, Mass. the son of Alfred B. and Nettie (Brean) Fisher and attended schools in Plattsburg. A veteran of the United States Navy he served honorably from October 1942 until October 1948. He was a torpedo man second class aboard several ships. He earned the following medals for his service to our country, World War II Victory Medal, American Area medal with one Star, Asiatic Pacific medal, Navy Occupation Ribbon (Asia) Good Conduct medal with Star, China service Ribbon. His marriage to the former Audrey L. Cramer took place on November 23, 1950 in Dolgeville. They would have celebrated 56 years of marriage this November. Ray was employed at area manufacturing companies including UNIVAC, Mohawk Data Science and the Life Savers Company where he was a machine operator. He is survived by his wife Audrey, his Sons Edward Fisher of Dolgeville and Lynn Fisher of Salisbury Center, A Daughter and her husband Barbara and Larry Nichols of Salisbury Center, a His Sisters Alice and her husband Steve Chuhrayla of Bernard?s Bay, Sally Bagdonas and Mona Fay Allen both of Mass., his Brothers Irving, Leon and David Fisher all of Mass. His Grandchildren Laura Nichols Tait Nichols and a Great Grandson Connor Nichols. A Graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday September 9th, 2006 at 1PM in the Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia will officiate. There are No Calling hours. Memorials may be sent in his name to the 4th Floor of the Little Falls Hospital. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
