Obituary of Richard Francisco

Richard J. Francisco, 82 a life long St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2006 at Little Falls Hospital. He was born April 3, 1923 in St. Johnsville the son of the late John and Philomena (Caccavale) Francisco and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High Schools, class of 1942. He was married to the former Ada Nalli on June 29, 1947 in Fort Plain, NY. Mr. Francisco was a World War II Army Air Corp. veteran enlisting on January 30, 1943 and was honorably discharged on September 7, 1945 with the rank of Corporal. While serving his country Richard served in the following battles & campaigns: Air Offensive Europe, Naples-Foggia acting as Interpreter for S1 Intelligence, Italian Invasion, Normandy, North Apennies, Northern France, PO Valley, Rhineland, Rome-Arne, Southern France, and Air Combat GO. He also received the following decorations and citations: Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, European ? African - Middle Eastern Service Medal & the Presidential Unit Citation. For many years Richard was a barber, owning his own shop on Main Street in St. Johnsville. He continued his profession until his passing. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Ada; a son John R. Francisco and wife Maria of St. Johnsville, 2 daughters, Anne Marie Marshall and husband Clifford of Hernando, Florida, & Mary Beth Francisco of Fultonville, and 2 grandchildren, Michelle Marshall and Justin Marshall both of Florida, and several nieces & nephews. In keeping with Richard?s wishes a Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday March 4, 2006 at 9:00 am at St. Patrick?s Church on Center St., St. Johnsville, NY.
