Obituary of Elizabeth Grenier

Elizabeth A. ?Betty? Grenier, 93, a long time resident of Fort Herkimer, passed away on Wednesday May 31, 2006 at Valley Health Services. She was born May 17, 1913 in Little Falls the daughter of the late John & Josephine (Galuska) Shaffer and was educated in Herkimer schools. Betty was married to Lawrence Grenier on November 17, 1935 in St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer. Mr. Grenier preceded her in death. She worked in many dress factories in Little Falls and most recently at the former Andy Dress Shop in Mohawk. Mrs. Grenier was a member of Sts Anthony & Joseph Church in Herkimer, and also was a member of St. Francis De Paul Society and the Crowley Barnum American Legion Post 25, Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Sfinas Stone and husband John of Utica, a daughter-in-law, Cathy Grenier of Rochester, her grandchildren, Lou Ann Goodreau and husband Tom of Pennsylvania, Michael Foti and wife Judy of Herkimer, Robert Foti of California, Lisa Grenier King and husband Chris of New Jersey, Brandy Grenier of Virginia, and John Grenier of Rochester, her great grandchildren, Michelle & Sarah Goodreau, Courtney & Kyle Foti, Katlin & Madeline King and several nieces & one nephew and many close friends who were there for her in her time of need. She was pre-deceased by her son, Edward Grenier, her twin brother, John, and sisters, Mary Miller, Elona Dittmer, Catherine Lubrizol & Rose Kolmer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 3, 2006 at 9:00 am from the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, and at 9:30 am from the Church of Sts Anthony & Joseph, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Anthony Ligato, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home, on Friday June 2, 2006 from 5-8 pm.
