Douglas R. Harper Jr. 47 of 8243 Lucille Road Mechanicsville, VA, passed away on Friday June 30, 2006. He was born on January 7, 1959 in Falls Church, Virginia, the son of the late Douglas R. Harper Sr. and the late Carolyn Carver. Doug was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1977. Upon graduation he entered the United States Navy in the Nuclear Program. He was honorably discharged in July of 1983. He was employed with Perkin ? Elmer as a Senior Customer Service Engineer for over 20 years. Doug was full of life, a great father and family man devoting all of his free time to his three children. It brought him great joy to watch his children as he exposed them to the passions of his life, the Adirondacks, camping at the beach and going to the river. He is survived by his children Zachary and Madelyn, a step son Scott all of Mechanicsville, Va, his Mother Penelope Harper of Salisbury Center, His Sister Laurie DiDone of Clay, two uncles Charles Grant and Brian Harper, an aunt Margery Grant, a niece and nephew Danielle and Matthew DiDone and several cousins. A Memorial service will be held Saturday July 22, 2006 at 1PM at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville, New York. Pastor Gertrude Ortlieb will officiate.
