Obituary of Lillian Hathaway

Lillian ?Lill? M. Hathaway, 79, of 167 E. State St., Ilion, died Saturday Oct. 21, 2006, at St. Luke's Home, New Hartford, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Sept. 30, 1927, in Ilion, the daughter of Frank and Nellie (Burke) Hathaway and graduated from Ilion Central School. She was employed as a key punch operator at Sperry Rand Univac in Ilion and Utica for 25 years, retiring in 1977. She enjoyed puzzles and reading. Survivors include her brother, Donald Hathaway and his wife Christine of Ilion; her sister, Carol Sweeney of Clinton; several nieces and nephews including Diane Boswell and her husband Scott of Canastota, Kelly Webster and her husband Dennis of Clinton, Randall Hoover and his wife Dolores of Virginia, Susan Richards of Westmoreland, and Donald Hathaway and his wife of Florida; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her aunt, Myrtle Burke. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service for ?Lill? on Friday, Oct. 27, at 2:30 p.m. at Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. There are no calling hours. People needing a ride to her memorial service may contact the funeral home anytime at 895-7722 for complimentary transportation assistance.
