Obituary of Julienne Houser

Mrs. Julienne B. Houser 81 0f 32 Sullivan Street Dolgeville, died unexpectedly Friday September 8, 2006 in Little Falls Hospital where she was a patient since Tuesday September 5th. She was born in Valerysthal, France on September 30, 1924 the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Litscher) Berlet. Julie was married to husband Clarence D. Houser on June 5, 1945 in Valerysthal, France while he served in the Army at the end of WW II. She then came to the United States with him in 1947. Julie was employed by the Allegro Shoe Company of Little Falls for 27 years retiring from there several years ago. Two of her most proudest moments in her life were when she became a United State Citizen on May 2, 1950 and also being selected as the Queen for the annual Dolgeville Violet Festival in 2003. She was a faithful member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and was a member of the Old-timers Club of Oppenheim and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW of Dolgeville. She personally enjoyed camping at Richfield Springs, and baking for her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence on August 26, 1996 and a son Paul P. Houser on February 1, 1991, and a Daughter Virginia at birth. Surviving her is a son and his wife Elliott and Katie Houser of Cherry Valley,a daughter in Law Andrea Tobin of Vermont, her Twin sister Marie Kuchly and her family in France, her grandchildren and their wives Eric and Misty Houser, Edward and Christine Houser, Steven Houser, Eric Fosdick and his companion Kristin, Jacqueline Fosdick and her companion Jon, her Great Grandchildren Mikhaila , Alexis, Madison, Emma and Brady. Julie was well known for her love of family, life, her dog ?Buddy?, friends, neighbors and her home. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday September 12, 2006 at 12:30 PM in St. Josephs Church Dolgeville, New York. Rev. Leo F. Potvin the pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Calling hours are on Tuesday morning at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville from 10 AM until 11:30 when we will proceed to the church for her mass. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials in her name are made to St. Joseph?s Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
