Obituary of Edward Johnson

Edward A. Johnson, Sr., 72, of 19 James Street, Ilion, passed away on Thursday November 16, 2006 at the Folts Home, with his loving family by his side. He was born June 29, 1934 in New York City. Ed graduated from New York City High School. His marriage to Rose A. Holobowicz took place on July 11, 1959, at St. Stanislaus Church in Manhattan. Ed was last employed as a manager for the Canon Camera Company in Manhattan. Mr. Johnson was of the catholic faith. With family as his foremost priority, Ed proved himself a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Rose, his children, Edward Johnson, Jr. of Ilion, Theresa Polite and husband Ted of Delaware, Raymond Johnson and wife Joanne of New Hartford, and Rosemarie Millen and husband Claude of Watertown, 3 step brothers, Vincent Arabia of Mohawk, Alex Arabia of Utica, and Dick Brunner of Virginia, a step sister, Linda Elmer of Utica, his grandchildren, Christopher and Kara Johnson, T.C., Richard, Rocky and Bobo Polite, and Melissa and Anthony Cranney and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a step sister, Christina Hart, and a step brother, John Arabia. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 22, 2006 at 8:00 pm from the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main St., (between Ilion and Frankfort), with Chaplain Arthur Minor, pastor of Folts Home, officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday November 22, 2006 from 5 pm until the time of the services.
