Obituary of Edward Kane

Edward R. Kane, 62, of Burwell Street, a longtime Little Falls resident, passed away unexpectedly at home Saturday, May 20, 2006. Mr. Kane was born Dec. 22, 1943, in Utica, son of Mitchell C. and Ellen (Burdick) Kane. He was a graduate of Mohawk High School. At one time he was married to Lorraine Carpenter. Years ago, Ed was employed at Allegro Shoe Co. in Little Falls. He was of the Roman Catholic faith. Survivors include his son, Matthew Edward Kane and Matt's mother, Lorraine Carpenter, both of Salisbury; his mother, Ellen Kane of Mohawk; two brothers, Richard Kane of Mohawk and Gary Kane and his wife Bonnie of Utica; two aunts and one uncle, Hazel Lindsay and her husband Pastor Robert Lindsay of Schuyler and Marion Roberts of Yorkville; several cousins, including Sharyn Besig and husband Paul of Mohawk and Don Kane and his wife Janice of New Hartford; also his extended family members. He was predeceased by his father, Mitchell, in 1995 and his grandparents. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, May 25, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls. Mr. Kane's funeral service will be held Thursday, May 25, commencing at 1 p.m. following visitation, with Father Alfred Lamanna officiating. Procession to Church Street Cemetery for interment will follow. All funeral and burial arrangements are under the direction of John J. Day.
