Obituary of Nikolaos Katsoulis

Nikolaos G. ?Nikos? Katsoulis-84, of Niles, Ill., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 while visiting his daughter and son in law, Tina and Paul Plevritis in Marcy. His passing occurred in St. Elizabeth?s Medical Center, Utica. He was born on January 7, 1923 in Tripoli, Greece, son of the late George and Constantina (Papahronis) Katsoulis and was educated in Greece schools. He was married to Maria Alexopoulos who passed away in 1991. In 1994, Nikos was married to Helena in Chicago. He was self-employed throughout his working career operating the Alpha an Omega Book Store/Missionary and was at one time a shoe repair man operating shops in both Greece and the United State of America. Besides his beloved family, the first and foremost priority in Niko?s life was his love and dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ. He had a passion for God and His people and enjoyed touring European countries bringing the message of salvation often carrying the cross on his shoulders. He is survived by his wife Helena of Niles, Ill; two daughters: Tina Plevritis and husband Paul of Marcy and Helen Hinaris and husband Jim of Chicago, Ill., a sister: Frances Mazomenos and husband James of Chicago; five grandchildren: Stephanie Schilling and husband Mark, Alexandra Plevritis, James Plevritis, Jenna Hinaris and Dennis Hinarris; a great granddaughter: Anna Schilling; many nieces, nephews, cousins in Greece and Chicago and step-children in Poland. He was preceded in death by a brother: Bill and by a sister: Rose. Relatives and friends are invited to Nikos? funeral service commencing at 10 am on Saturday, March 11, 2006 from Mt. Zion Ministries, 931 Herkimer Rd., Utica. Pastor Mike Servello will officiate. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Utica, where he will be laid to rest. The family offers their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, especially to Dr. Talarico and his team for their professionalism. The Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street, between Frankfort and Ilion, is serving the family.
