Obituary of Stella Keyser

Mrs. Stella R. Keyser 87 formerly of the Oppenheim Road Rt. 29 Dolgeville and who has been residing with her niece and her husband Charlene and Peter Macri at 251 West End Road Herkimer, died Friday afternoon June 9, 2006 in Little Falls Hospital. Stella was born on March 28, 1919 in Dolgeville, the daughter of Franklin and Mary (Pugliese) Galusha and attended Alfred Dolge and Union Free schools in Dolgeville. Her marriage to Ernest Keyser took place on July 19, 1947 in Lottville, Town of Oppenheim. Mr. Keyser predeceased her on June 20, 1972. Stella was last employed by the Fulton County Infirmary retiring from there in 1977. Upon her retirement she continued to volunteer at Wells House in Johnstown, where she was an advocate for resident's rights. Stella did a lot for elderly people as a giver not as a receiver; she never accepted money for helping people. Although not graduating from high school, she accomplished the following: she was a certified Geriatric Attendant at Genesee Nursing Home, a licensed cosmetologist, by attending Utica School of Cosmetology, a physical therapy tech., licensed Notary Public, a Constable for the town of Oppenheim and a member of the Magistrates Association of Fulton - Hamilton Counties. Stella was of the Catholic Faith. She is survived by a Brother Joseph Pugliese of Little Falls, several Nieces & Nephews among them is a very special Niece, Charlene and her husband Peter Macri of Herkimer with whom she resided, and a special friend Angie Cuda a resident of the Skilled Nursing Facility at Little Falls Hospital. A graveside service will be held Friday June 16th, 2006 at 1PM in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Her nephew the Rev. John Kashorek pastor of the Church of Christ in Massena will officiate. There are NO calling hours. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
