Obituary of Isabelle King

Isabelle King, 77, of 13 Fulton St., Mohawk, passed away Wednesday morning July 12, 2006. Isabelle was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Central Bridge, N.Y., daughter of the late Irving J. Sr. and Laura (VanBuren) Vincent. On Oct. 24, 1947, she was united in marriage to Clyde King in Schoharie, N.Y., a special union of 58 years. For many years Isabelle worked as a waitress at the old Empire Diner in Herkimer, and last was employed as a waitress at Peg's Pantry in Ilion prior to her retirement. Isabelle enjoyed bowling, especially the co-ed leagues with her husband Clyde. She liked crossword puzzles and following the soap operas on TV. Isabelle's life was centered around her beloved family. Survivors include her husband Clyde, her children, Noreen Looman of Gloversville; Shirley King of Sebring, Fla.; Kathleen Pratt and her husband James of Mohawk; Eileen Loomis and her husband Grant of Frankfort; Donald King and his wife Crystal of Mohawk; David King of Mohawk, Danny King of Herkimer, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and extended family members. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters including her brother Irving J. Vincent to whom Isabelle was very close. Isabelle's funeral service will be held Friday, July 14, commencing at 1 p.m. at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with the Rev. Robert Wollaber pastor of the Ilion United Methodist Church, officiating. Family and friends are invited to visitation Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. In keeping with Isabelle's wishes, cremation will follow her funeral service. Her graveside committal service will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer at a later date and time to be announced.
