Obituary of Carl King

Carl E. King, 61, of South Side Road, Frankfort, died unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at home. He was born Feb. 16, 1945, in Solsville, N.Y., the son of Albert and Mabel (Brown) King and attended Poland Central School. He was married to Jeanette Myers, who died on Feb. 13, 1996. He was employed as a farmhand for 28 years at the Riverside Dairy and Nicastro's Farm in Frankfort, retiring in 2004. Carl was a good father and grandfather. Survivors include his daughter, Alice King; his grandson, A.J. Humphrey, both of Frankfort; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Eva King, of Schuyler, Darwin and Pat King of Clinton; his sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Thomas Shumway, of Cold Brook; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, the Nicastro family and Vic Leon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. Interment will be in North Columbia Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, 8:30-10 a.m., at the funeral home prior to the service. The King family wishes to thank the town of Frankfort police department for their help and compassion.
