Obituary of Esther King

Esther (Slaboc) King, 87, of Burwell St., Little Falls, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday morning, Feb. 28, 2006 in Van Allen's Nursing Home, Little Falls. She was born on May 19, 1918 in West Pawlet, Vt., daughter of the late George and Eva (Kocebon) Slaboc. She was married to Robert E. King on November 24, 1946 in the First Baptist Church, Little Falls, a loving union of 59 years. Her last professional employment was with the former Allegro Shoe Factory, Little Falls, where she was a sewing machine operator. Survivors include her beloved family: her husband: Robert E. "Bob" King of Little Falls; a son: Robert G. King of Little Falls and a granddaughter: Briget King. She was predeceased by two brothers: Steve and Andrew Slaboc and by three sisters: Mary Derfey, Anne Hessler, and Julia Kubica. She personally enjoyed sports, especially, basketball, baseball and stock car races. The family will gather privately to say goodbye. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to graveside service that will be held in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills at a time to be announced. Funeral arrangements are honored and served by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls. (823-2424). Esther was a woman who committed all her energy, all her ability and all her being to her family and her home; she believed that taking care of her loved ones was her primary responsibility in life, one which she welcomed with love, pride and dedication. A generous person, she was wiling to place the concerns and needs of other before her own.
