Obituary of Raymond Krick

Raymond Edward "Ray" Krick, 66, currently of Sweetwater Boulevard, Murrells Inlet, S.C., formerly of Ilion, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in South Carolina. Ray was born Dec. 6, 1939, in Ilion, son of the late Harold and Iva (Mower) Krick. He was a proud veteran, serving with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Ray was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation, retiring in 1995. He was a former member of the Mohawk American Legion, transferring to South Carolina, and at one time attended the Ilion First Baptist Church. He recently served on the Sweetwater HOA Board in South Carolina. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Linda (Vogel) Krick; daughter, Kathy Young and her husband Keith of North Syracuse; his grandchildren, Katelyn and Kyle Young, both of North Syracuse; two brothers, Donald Krick of Ilion and Richard Krick of Dolgeville; one sister, Doris Brown of Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Muriel Reina and infant daughter, Raelyn. Family and friends are invited to a local memorial service to be held on Sunday, April 2, commencing at 4 p.m. at the Applegate and Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with the Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Applegate and Day Funeral Home, Ilion, prior to the memorial service. In South Carolina, the family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Goldfinch Funeral Service Beach Chapel, Murrells Inlet, S.C. Memorials may be made in Mr. Krick's memory to the Murrell's Inlet Fire Department, P.O. Box 48, Murrells Inlet, S.C. 20576.
