Obituary of Congetta Leavitt

Mrs. Congetta "Connie" Leavitt, 95, a resident of the Palatine Nursing Home since December 2002 and former Dolgeville resident, died Monday afternoon January 9, 2006 at the home. She was born in Utica, New York on June 1, 1910 the daughter of the late Nicholas and Innocenza (Blotta) Fragiacomo. Her marriage to George E. Leavitt took place on September 1, 1928 in St. Joseph's Church, Dolgeville. Mr. Leavitt predeceased her on September 29, 1973. Prior to her retirement in 1965 she was employed at the Daniel Green Company of Dolgeville. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Dolgeville. Surviving her is a son and his wife George Raymond and Suzanne Leavitt of Palatine Bridge; her sisters Amelia "Molly" DeNinno and Elvera "Bema" DeLucco, both of Dolgeville; her grandchildren Russell, Cynthia and Craig; several great grandchildren; also Mary Lou Huddleston and Debra Foster, two of her nieces. A Prayer service will be held on Thursday January 12, 2006 at 11 AM at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Rev. Leo F. Potvin from St. Joseph's Church and Rev. William Kark from Freysbush United Methodist Church will offer prayers. Burial will be in the Spring in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday morning from 9:30 until the time of the service. Memorials maybe made to the Memorial Fund of St. Joseph's Church or to the Dolgeville- Manheim Public Library in her name.
