Obituary of Mary Luppino

Mary C. ?Carm? (DeNinno) Luppino, 89, of 151 Summit Street, Mohawk, (Manion Heights) passed away on Sunday October 1, 2006 at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home in Ilion. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 8, 1917, the daughter of the late Francesco and Mary (Deluca) DeNinno. She moved to Dolgeville as a child and attended Dolgeville schools. As a young adult she was employed by Daniel Green Shoe Company. Mary had a great love of music and sang in nightclubs in the Dolgeville area. On July 7, 1946, she was united in marriage to John J. Luppino and moved to Mohawk where they shared 58 years together until John?s passing on December 2, 2004. Mary?s life was centered around her home and family. She was a great cook and loved to feed her family and friends when they came to her home. Every Sunday was pasta and family day and everyone who ever ate at her home knew what a marvelous cook she was. She was a wonderful mother and a special ?Nanee? to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a heart of gold and would help in any way she could. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law: Mary & Bill Davis and Linda Wood all of Mohawk. Three grandchildren: Christopher Davis and wife Lisa, Michael Davis and wife Karlee, and Ann Lee (Wood) Bardo and husband David. Four great grandchildren: Julia Davis, David, Eric and Paige Bardo. She is also survived by two sisters: Lillian Lawrence of Largo, Florida and Rosemarie Blair of Dolgeville. Four sisters-in-law: Molly DeNinno of Dolgeville, Shirley DeNinno of Newport, Rose Luppino of Mohawk, and Rose Cushman of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, and many nieces & nephews. Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by seven brothers and one sister: Joseph, Donato, John, Rocco, Rudy, Alfred, Frank, Louise and a son-in-law, Eric Wood. The family extends their thanks to the fourth floor staff of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home. Those wishing are asked to consider donations in her memory to either the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home or the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 5, 2006 at 8:30 am from the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer and at 9:00 am from the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Anthony Ligato, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
