Obituary of Coralie Lytwynec

Mrs. Coralie E. Lytwynec, 78, of 24 Spruce Street, Ilion, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 2, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital, with her loving daughter, Diane, by her side. She was born on July 23, 1927 in Utica, NY, a daughter of the late James and Audrey (Madrid) Treen. She was educated in Herkimer schools. At one time, Coralie lived in Schuyler and Herkimer, and lastly settled in Ilion where she has been a long time resident. On December 14, 1946, Coralie was united in marriage to John Lytwynec at the First Baptist Church in Herkimer. They celebrated their 59th anniversary this past December. Their marriage was founded on love and appreciation for each other and this love was passed on to their children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Marine Corps League Auxillary in Ilion and the Michael S. Pliseck V.F.W. Post #4915 Auxillary in Herkimer. At one time, she worked at Univac in Ilion. Coralie was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be remembered as being a kind, loving, caring, sincere and compassionate woman. Her happiest moments were those spent with her loved ones. She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 59 years, John; her four daughters, Linda O'Hora, Darlene Spicer and her husband Bruce, Diane Preskitt, and Joncia Lytwynec and her husband Tracy Midgley; a son, John D. Lytwynec and his wife Patti; two brothers, James Treen of Frankfort and Robert Treen and his wife Ann of Ilion; two sisters, Mella Brown and her husband James of Newport, and Edith Treen of Herkimer; five special grandchildren, Jason Preskitt, Ian Midgley, Renee Spicer, Colin Spicer, and Samuel Lytwynec; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She was predeceased by a brother, Fred Treen and a special nephew, David Schad. In keeping with the family's wishes there will be no public calling hours and no public funeral services. Funeral arrangements are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Internment will take place in the spring at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in Herkimer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Miracle Network, the Juvenile Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home and St. Luke's Hospital for their kind and compassionate care shown to Coralie and her family during her stay.
