Obituary of Edna Marley

Edna C. Marley, 76, of West St., a lifelong Ilion resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 27, 2006, in Mohawk Homestead where she had been a resident for the past year. She was born in Ilion on December 9, 1929, daughter of the late Adelbert and Jennie M. (Loughlin) Marley and was educated in Ilion schools. She was last employed with Remington Arms, Ilion, and she was a faithful member of Annunciation Church, Ilion. Edna will be sadly missed by her sister with whom she resided with for many years: Marian Marley, Ilion; many nieces and nephews including locally: Kevin and Judi McGrellis of Ilion, Melinda Marley of Ilion, Dean and Meg Liberty of Ilion, Matthew and Debra Marley of Ilion, Peter and Jane North of Ilion, and James and Katie LaPaglia of Utica; and in-laws: Margaret Marley and Mary Marley both of Ilion. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers: Ruth McGrellis, Helen North, Lila Andrews, John Marley and Frank Marley. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to every staff member at Mohawk Homestead for the tender love and care offered to Edna. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, on Friday Sept. 29, 2006, from 4-7 p.m. Edna's funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept., 30, commencing at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m in Annunciation Church, Ilion, with the Rev. Anthony Barratt, pastor, officiating. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest.
