Obituary of Theresa Marshall

Theresa F. Marshall, 88, formerly of 18 Fulmer St., Mohawk, died Sunday, July 30, 2006, at the Folts Homes, Herkimer, where she had been a resident for the past two years. She was born on Jan. 21, 1918, in Herkimer, the daughter of Anthony and Delia (Davin) Fath and graduated from Herkimer High School and Utica School of Commerce. On April 8, 1942, she was married to John C. Marshall at St. Francis de Sales rectory in Herkimer. He died on Oct. 29, 2003. During World War II, Theresa was executive secretary at E.I. Dupont Co., Wilmington, Del. She was a member of the Mohawk Reformed Church and its Women's Circle and taught Sunday school. Theresa was active in various volunteer activities and served many years on the board of directors at Weller Library, Mohawk. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Clare Marshall of Burke, Va., and her granddaughter Meaghan Marshall of Arlington, Va. She was predeceased by her parents and her step-brother Edward McGrail. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at the Graves-Applegate- Day Funeral Home, 48 East Main St., Mohawk, with the Rev. Arthur Miner, chaplain of Folts Homes officiating. Interment will be in Mohawk Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association or MOVAC. Donation envelopes are available at the Graves-Applegate & Day Funeral Home, Mohawk.
