Joseph C. ?Joe? Maruszak, 71 of 13 Washington St., St. Johnsville, passed away on Friday February 24, 2006 at Little Falls Hospital. He was born December 24, 1934 in Little Falls the son of the late John & Agnes (Krason) Maruszak. Joe was a graduate of Little Falls High School and also graduated from Cortland College. He was married to the former Pauline O?Brien who preceded him in death. Mr. Maruszak was a United States Army veteran. For over 30 years, Joe was an elementary teacher for the St. Johnsville Central School District. Mr. Maruszak was a member of the Grace Christian Church in St. Johnsville and was a former treasurer of the church. Survivors include his step-daughter, Kathleen Ryan and her husband John of Philadelphia, PA., 2 sisters, Stella Vallecorsa and her son Edward of Herkimer, & Jennie Jellison, of Chula Vista, California, 2 step-grandsons, Carl O?Brien of St. Johnsville, and Andrew Szala of Little Falls, 2 step-great grandchildren, Gabrielle Hulbert and Joseph O?Brien and many nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by 4 brothers & 3 sisters. In keeping with Joe?s wishes cremation will take place under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday March 4, 2006 at 11:00 am at the Grace Christian Church in St. Johnsville, with Reverend Tom Jones, officiating. Spring interment will be in West St. Johnsville Cemetery. All memorial contributions may be to the Grace Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the memorial service.
