Obituary of William Mathisen

William R. ?Bob? Mathisen, Jr., 68 of 130 W. Smith St., Herkimer passed away on Friday March 16, 2006 at his home. He was born August 24, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Wildheim Chrog and Wasylyna (Korolyz) Mathisen, and was a graduate of Brooklyn High School, P.S. 106. Bob was a last employed at Beech - Nut in Canajoharie, NY. Bob was past president of the Herkimer County Volunteer Firemen?s Association, former member of the Van Hornesville Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the Ilion Moose Lodge. Bob enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and friends at Cooperstown Famous Tent and Trailer. Survivors include his life partner, Cleo Boutell of Herkimer, 3 sons, William R. Mathisen and wife Laura of Herkimer, Wayne C. Mathisen and wife Kim of Kansas City, MO., & Eric F. Mathisen and friend Michelle of Ilion, his step children, Alice Quillan of Herkimer and Arthur Boutell of Herkimer, a brother Raymond Mathisen and wife Joyce of PA., and several grandchildren, nieces & nephews. A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday March 20, 2006 at the Little Falls American Legion, from 3-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, all memorial contributions may be made at the American Legion for the Herkimer County Firemen?s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY.
